Mr. V. Anbu is the Director General & CEO of Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) – the apex industry association for machine tool sector in India. IMTMA focuses on various initiatives connected to policy advocacy, trade fairs, mega events, training & seminars, export promotion, technology missions, publications and also organizes IMTEX series of exhibitions, one of the largest Machine Tool Industry exhibitions in the world. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). BIEC is a ‘Centre of Excellence’ established by IMTMA with Exhibition & Conference facilities of the highest quality at par with international standards and is certified as ‘Green’ project as per LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards of U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC) & by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). He is a Board Member of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, since October 2011. Currently, he is also a member of UFI Executive Committee. The UFI Board of Directors has recently elected Anbu as President of UFI for the year 2020-21. Mr. Anbu is a Metallurgical Engineer from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and has working experience of about 30 years. Prior to joining IMTMA, he was with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) heading various key areas of Technology / IPR activities.
