Ann-Kristin Achleitner
Ann-Kristin Achleitner has held the Chair for Entrepreneurial Finance, supported by KfW Bankengruppe (formerly KfW Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurial Finance) since 2001 and has been Scientific Director at the Center for Entrepreneurial and Financial Studies (CEFS) at Technische Universität München (TUM) since 2003. Previously, from 1994 to 2000, she had been Professor of Banking and Finance at the European Business School (ebs), Oestrich Winkel, and had worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company, Inc. and MS Management Service AG, St. Gallen. Prof. Achleitner earned her degrees and her Ph.D. in both law and business administration from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland. She is a member of the Government Commission German Corporate Governance Code as well as a member of the Senate of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (FhG). Prof. Achleitner is a member of the supervisory boards of Linde AG, Metro AG (both since 2011), GDF SUEZ SA (since 2012), and Munich Re (since 2013). She was member of the Expert Commission “Research and Innovation” (EFI) of the German Federal Government from 2007 to 2011, while being Vice-Chairwoman since 2009. Professor Achleitner earned several awards for both research and teaching including the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2007.
