Daisuke Maruichi is an Economic Affairs Officer with the United Nations in Bangkok, where he spearheaded the UN’s contributions to climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in the Asia Pacific region by offering a disaster risk data portal and strengthening early warning systems in the Pacific countries. He was Associate Social Affairs Officer in New York where he provided analytical research on inequality and poverty (2021–23), and Associate Economic Affairs Officer in Geneva, where he Promoted the greater use of technology and innovation in developing countries by launching a scholarship program for women scientists and reviewing and advising technology and innovation policies for governments. Mr Maruichi graduated from Kwansei Gakuen University in 2012 and received his master of international affairs from Columbia University in 2018. He is a fellow in the Aspen Institute Socrates Program, Associate leader of the US-Japan Council, and Head delegate of the G7 Youth Summit 2017.
