Gabor Kovacs has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bankar Holding in Budapest since 1991. Belonging to the Bankár company group are Sasad Rt., the Bakony Works, Agárdi Mezogazdasági Rt. and the Telki clinic, Hungary’s first private hospital. In addition, he is a renowned fine arts collector and is the founder of the Kovács Gábor Art Foundation (KOGART) since 2004. He graduated in 1980 from the Moscow State Institute for Foreign Relations (IMEMO) in Russia and joined thereafter the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) in the Foreign Relations Management Department until 1985. In 1985 he was nominated Managing Director of Citibank in Budapest and moved to Citibank in London as Vice President in 1989 until his current appointment.
