Ignacio Polanco is Honorary Chairman of Prisa. He holds a degree in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid, and a MBA from the Instituto de Empresa (IE). His professional career has been devoted to the Group, starting in Santillana- being Board Member until 2000- followed by Timon and Prisa. In June 2000 he assumed the post of Deputy Chairman of Grupo Prisa and in November 2006 he was appointed Vice President. He was assigned Chairman in July 2007. Within the Prisa Group, Ignacio Polanco is the Chairman of Diario EL PAÍS, Unión Radio, Sociedad Española de Radiodifusión (SER) and Santillana Foundation. He is member of the Board of Sogecable. Ignacio Polanco sits on different Boards of Trustees such as Cruz Roja Española, Cnic (Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares), Fad (Fundación de Ayuda contra la Drogadicción) and Fundación del Teatro Real among others.
