Kurt Lauk was Member of the European Parliament (EPP Group-CDU) in charge of the Monetary Affairs Committee from June 2005 until 2009. Since 2000, he has been President of Globe Capital Partners in Stuttgart and President of the Economic Council of the CDU Party in Berlin. He is Senior Advisor of Silverlake. He was a Member of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler in Stuttgart, a post he held after the merger. He was, prior to this position, Member of the Board of Management of the Commercial Vehicle division of Daimler-Benz group, after having been Member of the Board of Managenent and head of Mercedes-Benz AG’s Commercial Vehicle business in 1996. Dr. Lauk is President of the Franco-German Institute in Ludwigsburg (Germany). He is a member of a number of supervisory boards, including Deutsche Messe AG. He is on the advisory council of Stanford Business School. In charge of finance and controlling, he was a Member of the Board of Management of VEBA AG, Düsseldorf from 1992 till1996, and from 1989 till 1992 he was Deputy President of AUDI AG in Ingolstadt, Germany. He was President of Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbH from 1984-89 and he was President of the Boston Consulting Group GmbH, Munich from 1978-84 after having been Vice President and President of Boston Consulting Group, Inc. (Boston). Dr. Lauk holds degrees in history, theology, and political science and has a Ph.D. in International Politics from Kiel University, earning his MBA from Stanford University in 1977.
