Former Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, Beijing
Ambassador Lu Shumin is former Executive Vice President Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, and a former ambassador to Indonesia (2002–05) and to Canada (2005–08). He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972, and has served abroad in Canada, Australia, and in the U.S. Ambassador Lu was Director-General of the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs in 1998–2002 and Commissioner of Foreign Ministry in the Macao Special Administrative Region in 2008–11.
