Marco Tronchetti Provera
Marco Tronchetti Provera joined the Pirelli Group in 1986 and is today the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pirelli & C. and of the participated Company Olimpia, which holds an important stake in Telecom Italia. He is also Chairman of CAMFIN, main shareholder of Pirelli & C., and of the Silvio Tronchetti Provera Foundation, which aims to promote scientific and technological research in Italy. He is Deputy Chairman of Confindustria and the Italian Chairman of the Council for the United States and Italy. From 2001 until 2006, he was Chairman of Telecom Italia. He is member of: the Board of the Teatro alla Scala Foundation, the Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi, the European Round Table of Industrialists, the Assonime Steering Committee, the New York Stock Exchange European Advisory Committee, the International Advisory Board of Allianz, the International Council of J.P. Morgan. Marco Tronchetti Provera graduated in Economics and Business Administration in 1971 at the Bocconi University of Milan. In the early Seventies he started to work in the family businesses.
