Monika Ribar is an independent member of different boards such as Swiss Federal Railways SBB AG, Lufthansa Group, Sika, Chain IQ. Since 15 June 2016 she is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of SBB AG. Until May 2013, she was the CEO of the Panalpina Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of forwarding and logistics services. Monika held several positions within the group’s controlling, IT and global project management departments. In 2000 Monika was appointed as CIO and member of the group management. In 2005, she was appointed as CFO and in October 2006 as CEO. Before she joined Panalpina in 1991 she worked four years for the Fides Group in Zürich (today KPMG Switzerland) and two years for BASF, the chemical company in Vienna.She holds a university degree in finance and controlling from the University of St. Gallen. She participated in the executive program of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University in 1999. As CEO of Panalpina Monika was one of the few women in a CEO function of a large international publicly listed company in Switzerland and she is the first woman at the strategic top of a government owned company.
