Pietro Salini leads the Salini Impregilo Group, Italy’s main Italian contractor specializing in the construction of large complex infrastructure, and in the water sector – where it is recognized among the global leaders by Engineering News Record (ENR) – but also in railways and metro systems, bridges, roads and motorways, civil and industrial buildings, and airports. The Group, created from the merger of Salini SpA and Impregilo SpA, is active in more than 50 countries and 5 continents, with 35,000 employees and with a backlog that reaches €33.4 billion. He earned his degree in Economics and Business Administration from La Sapienza University of Rome and began his professional career working for the family company, Salini Costruttori SpA, becoming its Chief Executive Officer, a position he still holds. He led the Group’s growth through external lines (Todini Costruzioni in 2010, Impregilo in 2013 and, Lane Industries, in the United States, in 2016), creating an international champion, specializing in complex infrastructure, with 90% of its turnover created abroad. He is also a Member of the Board of Confindustria, an Executive Committee Member of Assonime, a member of the Board of Directors of ISPI, and the Chairman of Lane Industries.
