Dr. Somkiat Tangkitvanich is the President of the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), a well-known think tank in Thailand. He has been recognized as a leading researcher in the area of policy-related corruption and is the main architect of Thai PBS, the first public television in Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, TDRI was nominated “Person of the Year” in 2012 by the Bangkok Post. He received his B.E. (First-Class Honor) in computer engineering in 1988, and his M.E. and Ph.D. in computer science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Dr. Somkiat received the Man of the Year Award in 2003 from the Than Sethakit newspaper and the Thailand Anti-Corruption Award in 2004 from the Anti-Corruption Network. He received an Eisenhower Fellowship in 2008 and participated in the ASEAN and East Asia Leaders Program in 2014.
