Stephen Kotkin is the Kleinheinz Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, where he directs the Hoover History Lab, and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. He is also the Birkelund Professor of History and International Affairs Emeritus at Princeton University, where he directed the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies. He is a regular attendee of the Bilderberg Meeting and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He writes on authoritarianism and geopolitics and is the author of a trilogy on Joseph Stalin and global history.
