Zita Schellekens
Zita Schellekens is social entrepreneur, key note speaker and advisor on purpose and the impact economy in Amsterdam. Previously, she was the Director of Corporate Affairs and member of the Management Team of HEINEKEN Netherlands. At HEINEKEN she worked in several positions with the overall responsibility of strategy setting, external communications and brand PR, internal communications and change, CSR and government affairs. She studied International Business and Management Studies in Amsterdam started her career working for a political party, as campaigner, spokesperson and political advisor to the Minister of Trade. Zita then moved to the private sector, at HEINEKEN aiming to brew a better future in countries, such as Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Haiti, and was based in Singapore and Myanmar. Prior, as sustainability coordinator she was responsible for the implementation of HEINEKEN’s CSR program Brewing A Better Future in Africa and Middle East region. Her current involvement in creating urgency and awareness for a circular way of operating for HEINEKEN on a higher level earned her a nomination as Management Talent 50 under 40 (Goudhaantje), for Talent of the Year 2017 by the Dutch Financial Times, Sustainable Young Talent Top 100; Female Talent in the category “changing the world” VIVA400 and Talent of the Future by Radio 3FM. She was candidate party leader for the European delegation of Partij Van de Arbeid (PVDA). She has sat on the board of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) board member of the Foundation Max van der Stoel, and is currently board member True Price and chair of foundation Procuna with projects in Myanmar, as well as Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum. Her ambition is to create systemic transformations within institutions, in order to improve the world.
